Daniel Lim’s Studio
With over 10 years of teaching experience and training at some of the best musical institutions in the United States, I offer premium cello lessons for people of all ages and skill levels that focus on fundamental performance techniques and musical artistry, developing important skills such as problem solving, time management, and understanding how to achieve your goals.
My Mission
I cater my teaching style to you or your child’s needs. I have extensive experience preparing my students for College Auditions, Youth Orchestra auditions, CM Exams, and more. My students have been accepted to colleges such as Cal State Long Beach, UC Irvine, and NYU and have also been accepted into programs such as The Colburn Chamber Orchestra, Colburn Chamber Music, Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra, Glendale Youth Symphony, and Junior Chamber Music.
My lessons focus on the “Big Picture”, meaning whatever skills you use to play cello at the highest level are heavily correlated with other skills that are needed in life. While my responsibility is to make sure that my students make the most out of his/her experience playing the cello, I also see myself as a mentor and continually check up on how my students are doing, offering guidance and support on matters such as school, preparing for college, etc.
Testimonials
“My daughter has had several cello teachers over the years, and Daniel is by far the best. He is engaging, commanding, and he really knows his stuff. He is a skilled teacher and has taken my son to new levels. Daniel is also committed to his students. He goes above and beyond to help them find orchestras and chamber groups to audition for, and then he helps prepare them for the audition. My son's cello experience improved greatly when Daniel came into his life. I highly recommend Daniel Lim's Cello Studio.”
“Daniel is single handedly giving my son the most well rounded cello education I could have imagined an one teacher giving. He is truly dedicated to bringing out the student's inner musician, and does so in a cool, older sibling way, which keeps my 8 year old engaged and excided to progress. Daniel seems to have really found his calling helping the next generation experience the joy of music, while also teaching them about diligence and the dedication it takes to reach their goals. Can't recommend him enough!”
